Arigatou (Thank You) ~ KoKia

Arigatou (Thank You) ~ KoKia
Kokia
English
Everyone loses something
Before they even realise it
I suddenly realise that you’ve gone
Leaving behind only memories
Amid the happiness, we lost our words
Like dolls
Like all those lost cats on the street corner
I hear a silent scream

If I could see you one more time
I just want to say one word: thankyou, thankyou

Even if I get hurt sometimes
I want to keep feeling you
At least I have my memories to comfort me
I’ll always have you here

If I could see you one more time
I just want to say one word: thankyou, thankyou

If I could see you one more time
I just want to say one word
If I could see you one more time
I just want to say one word: thankyou, thankyou

Even if I get hurt sometimes, I want to keep feeling you

Paper Boats ~ Rabindranath Tagore

Paper Boats
Day by day I float my paper boats one by one down the running stream.
In bid black letters I write my name on them and the name of the village where I live.
I hope that someone in some strange land will find them and know who I am.
I load my little boats with shiuli flower from our garden, and
hope that these blooms of the dawn will be carried safely to land in the night.
I launch my paper boats and look up into the sky and see the
little clouds setting thee white bulging sails.
I know not what playmate of mine in the sky sends them down the air to race with my boats!
When night comes I bury my face in my arms and dream that my
paper boats float on and on under the midnight stars.
The fairies of sleep are sailing in them, and the lading ins
their baskets full of dreams.

Ashita Ga Kurunara (If Tomorrow Ever Comes)-JUJU with JAY'ED

[If Tomorrow Ever Comes]
I don't want to say goodbye
Because everytime I close my eyes
I can see your reflection there.

If tomorrow ever comes, then I don't want anything else,
just for you to always keep on laughing

I won't say it, but I desperately want to touch you again and again
It seems that somehow I'll break if I say it out loud
I knew it by the moment I felt the warmth of your hands.

Unstoppable time one day will pull us away
I want to see you a little bit more,
I want to embrace you, forever
Time is slipping away

If tomorrow ever comes, then I don't want anything else,
just for you to always keep on laughing

Please don't cry, because I can still be with you for some more time
There are still things I want to tell you
But I can't find the words for it
Stand by me

Because the time passing by makes us feel so lonely
I'm looking at your quiet smile,
because I don't want to part
Livin' life for today

If tomorrow ever comes, then I don't want anything else,
just for you to always keep on laughing

Because I was born into this world to meet you
I want to burn every moment in my heart
Even 1 second is OK, just a bit more
Let me be by your side

If tomorrow ever comes, then I don't want anything else,
just for you to always keep on laughing
If tomorrow comes, then I don't want anything,
just for you to always keep on laughing

I won't say goodbye

The Night Has A Thousand Eyes ~ Francis William Bourdillon

The Night Has A Thousand Eyes
The night has a thousand eyes,
And the day but one;
Yet the light of the bright world dies
With the dying sun.

The mind has a thousand eyes,
And the heart but one:
Yet the light of a whole life dies
When love is done.

Affirmation ~ Savage Garden

"Affirmation" Savage Garden

I believe the sun should never set upon an argument
I believe we place our happiness in other people's hands
I believe that junk food tastes so good because it's bad for you
I believe your parents did the best job they knew how to do
I believe that beauty magazines promote low self-esteem
I believe I'm loved when I'm completely by myself alone
I believe in Karma what you give is what you get returned
I believe you can't appreciate real love until you've been burned
I believe the grass is no more greener on the other side
I believe you don't know what you've got until you say goodbye

I believe you can't control or choose your sexuality
I believe that trust is more important than monogamy
I believe your most attractive features are your heart and soul
I believe that family is worth more than money or gold
I believe the struggle for financial freedom is unfair
I believe the only ones who disagree are millionaires

I believe in Karma what you give is what you get returned
I believe you can't appreciate real love until you've been burned
I believe the grass is no more greener on the other side
I believe you don't know what you've got until you say goodbye

I believe forgiveness is the key to your unhappiness
I believe that wedded bliss negates the need to be undressed
I believe that God does not endorse TV evangelists
I believe in love surviving death into eternity

I believe in Karma what you give is what you get returned
I believe you can't appreciate real love until you've been burned
I believe the grass is no more greener on the other side
I believe you don't know what you've got until you say goodbye

8 Count ~ Charles Bukowski

8 Count
from my bed
I watch
3 birds
on a telephone
wire.
one flies
off.
then
another.
one is left,
then
it too
is gone.
my typewriter is
tombstone
still.
and I am
reduced to bird
watching.
just thought I'd
let you
know,
fucker.

To A False Friend ~ Thomas Hood 1799-1845

To A False Friend
Our hands have met, but not our hearts;
Our hands will never meet again.
Friends, if we have ever been,
Friends we cannot now remain:
I only know I loved you once,
I only know I loved in vain;
Our hands have met, but not our hearts;
Our hands will never meet again!
Then farewell to heart and hand!
I would our hands had never met:
Even the outward form of love
Must be resign'd with some regret.
Friends, we still might seem to be,
If I my wrong could e'er forget;
Our hands have join'd but not our hearts:
I would our hands had never met!

Thomas Hood 1799-1845

Om pra ma pud: อมพระมาพูด[鬼話連篇] ~ Bird Thongchai & Sek Loso

Om pra ma pud:
You come to me with a sad face
and tell me that we can't get along.
You say I'm too good, for you.
But those words are too easy.
You acting like I'm a vegetable, a fish, not a man.

You pretended to be good.
You said, you have no one new.
You wanted to rest your heart
and didn't want anyone else involved.

No matter what you say I wouldn't believe you.
Someone like you, timid on the outside fierce on the inside.
Despite the warnings I didn't listen.

No matter what you say I wouldn't believe you.
Fresh faced, fierce hearted, not to be believed.
In your past how many people have you done this with?
Have you ever counted?

Even though I still love you.
Everyone can see it.
But I won't let you trick me any more.
Tommorrow I will to go,
I don't want to meet the blackhearted.
I won't believe in words anymore.

(Interlude)

You pretended to be good.

One and Only Flower in the World ~ SMAP

One and Only Flower in the World
Lyrics and Music Composed by Makihara Noriyuki)

I was looking at the flowers lined up in front of the florists
We all have our favorite perhaps, but aren't they all beautiful?
Never vying with each other over which is the best
They all stand tall and proud in their buckets

Why are we human beings always trying so hard to compare ourselves?
Trying so hard to be number 1 even though we're each unique and different?

It's true--we are each the one and only flower in the world
Each of us holds the seed of something different
It is enough to give everything we have
To bring that flower into bloom

Smiling with indecision, one customer hesitated a long while
She couldn't help it, I'm sure--any flower that struggles into bloom is beautiful
When she finally came out of the shop, she held in her arms
A bouquet of every color, her face beaming with delight

I did not even know her name, but she smiled at me that day
Like a flower blooming in some forgotten corner

It's true--we are each the one and only flower in the world
Each of us holds the seed of something different
It is enough to give everything we have
To bring that flower into bloom

Small flowers and big flowers
Not one is identical to another
So, you don't have to be Number 1
You've always been the one and only one

Democracy ~ Langston Hughes

Democracy

Democracy will not come
Today, this year
Nor ever
Through compromise and fear.

I have as much right
As the other fellow has
To stand
On my two feet
And own the land.

I tire so of hearing people say,
Let things take their course.
Tomorrow is another day.
I do not need my freedom when I'm dead.
I cannot live on tomorrow's bread.

Freedom
Is a strong seed
Planted
In a great need.

I live here, too.
I want freedom
Just as you.

I Believe ~ 絢香 Ayaka

I believe
Lyrics: Ayaka Translation: Jonathan Wu

Hidden inside my heart, is a
whirlpool of uncertainty
If I have to walk on, which way do I go?
As the streets overflow with people
I say "Goodbye" to that uncertain me
I believe myself, I know that if I believe
everything and anything can begin
I believe myself, and as the sunshine warms me
I walk on without failing myself because
I believe

Small lies begin to surface from the
falsehoods that people create in life
As a young girl I saw the lies pile up
up sighed to myself
And I swore to myself to color the lies in "black"
I believe myself, I know that if I believe
everything and anything can begin
I believe myself, and as the sunshine warms me
I walk on without failing myself because
I believe

Right now as the wide sky is reflected in my eyes
I feel like I'm living while staying true to myself
I believe myself, I know that if I believe
everything and anything can begin
I believe myself, and as the sunshine warms me
I walk on without failing myself because
I believe...

I believe

I believe myself
I believe myself
I believe

I believe myself
I believe myself
I believe

I believe myself
I believe myself
I believe...

Eternity ~ William Blake

Eternity
He who binds to himself a joy
Does the winged life destroy;
But he who kisses the joy as it flies
Lives in eternity's sun rise.

Gubbinal ~ Wallace Stevens

Gubbinal
That strange flower, the sun,
Is just what you say.
Have it your way.

The world is ugly,
And the people are sad.

That tuft of jungle feathers,
That animal eye,
Is just what you say.

That savage of fire,
That seed,
Have it your way.

The world is ugly,
And the people are sad.

(A Moonlit Night On The Spring River)

Artist: 童麗 (Tong, Li)
(Lyrics)

A Moonlit Night On The Spring River
In spring the river rises as high as the sea,
And with the river's rise the moon uprises bright.
She follows the rolling waves for ten thousand li,
And where the river flows, there overflows her light.
The river winds around the fragrant islet where
The blooming flowers in her light all look like snow.
You cannot tell her beams from hoar frost in the air,
Nor from white sand upon Farewell Beach below.
No dust has stained the water blending with the skies;
A lonely wheel like moon shines brilliant far and wide.
Who by the riverside first saw the moon arise?
When did the moon first see a man by riverside?
Ah, generations have come and pasted away;
From year to year the moons look alike, old and new.
We do not know tonight for whom she sheds her ray,
But hear the river say to its water adieu.
Away, away is sailing a single cloud white;
On Farewell Beach pine away maples green.
Where is the wanderer sailing his boat tonight?
Who, pining away, on the moonlit rails would learn?
Alas! The moon is lingering over the tower;
It should have seen the dressing table of the fair.
She rolls the curtain up and light comes in her bower;
She washes but can't wash away the moonbeams there.
She sees the moon, but her beloved is out of sight;
She'd follow it to shine on her beloved one's face.
But message-bearing swans can't fly out of moonlight,
Nor can letter-sending fish leap out of their place.
Last night he dreamed that falling flowers would not stay.
Alas! He can't go home, although half spring has gone.
The running water bearing spring will pass away;
The moon declining over the pool will sink anon.
The moon declining sinks into a heavy mist;
It's a long way between southern rivers and eastern seas.
How many can go home by moonlight who are missed?
The sinking moon sheds yearning o'er riverside trees.

Always ~ Pablo Neruda (1904-1973 Chile)

Always
I am not jealous
of what came before me.

Come with a man
on your shoulders,
come with a hundred men in your hair,
come with a thousand men between your breasts and your feet,
come like a river
full of drowned men
which flows down to the wild sea,
to the eternal surf, to Time!

Bring them all
to where I am waiting for you;
we shall always be alone,
we shall always be you and I
alone on earth,
to start our life!

Spring Rain ~ Sara Teasdale

Spring Rain
I thought I had forgotten,
But it all came back again
To-night with the first spring thunder
In a rush of rain.

I remembered a darkened doorway
Where we stood while the storm swept by,
Thunder gripping the earth
And lightning scrawled on the sky.

The passing motor busses swayed,
For the street was a river of rain,
Lashed into little golden waves
In the lamp light's stain.

With the wild spring rain and thunder
My heart was wild and gay;
Your eyes said more to me that night
Than your lips would ever say. . . .

I thought I had forgotten,
But it all came back again
To-night with the first spring thunder
In a rush of rain.

Thank You stars ~ Katie Melua

Katie Melua ~ Thank You Stars

Some call it faith, some call it love
Some call it guidance from above
You are the reason we found ours
So thank you stars

Some people think it's far away
Some know it's with them everyday
You are the reason we found ours
So thank you stars

There are no winds that can blow it away on the air
When they try to blow it away 's when you know it will always be there

To some it's the strength to be apart
To some it's a feeling in the heart
And when you're out there on your own, it's the way back home

There are no winds that can blow it away on the air
When they try to blow it away 's when you know it will always be there

Some call it faith, some call it love
Some call it guidance from above
You are the reason we found ours
So thank you stars
Thank you stars
Thank you stars

XIV Songs Of Two ~ Arthur Sherburne Hardy

XIV
Dear hands, forgiving hands,
There is no speech so sure as thing.
Lips falter with so much
To tell, eyes fill with thoughts I scarce divine,
But thy least touch
Soul understands.
Dear giving, taking hands,
There are no gifts so free as thine.
One last gem from the heart of the mine,
One last cup from the veins of the vine,
From the rose to the wind one last sweet breath,
Then poverty, and death!
But thy dear palms
Are richest empty, asking alms.

When I Dream ~ Carol Kidd

When I Dream ~ Carol Kidd

I could build a mansion that is higher than the trees
I could have all the gifts I want and never ask please
I could fly to Paris, it's at my beck and call
Why do I live my life alone with nothing at all?

But when I dream, I dream of you
Maybe someday you will come true
When I dream, I dream of you
Maybe someday you will come true

I can be the singer or the clown in any room
I can call up someone to take me to the moon
I can put my makeup on and drive the men insane
I can go to bed alone and never know his name

But when I dream, I dream of you
Maybe someday you will come true
When I dream, I dream of you
Maybe someday you will come true

Remembering Teresa Teng ~

Teresa Teng passed away 15 years ago today. I would never forget the very first moment of listening her songs, and the moment of hearing the sad news of her untimely passing on May 8th 1995 in Thailand.
Today, her fans around the world commemorate in their own ways to remember her. Her music has still given (especially) Overseas Chinese a sense of belonging, and pride in their heritage. They have surely given me joy and happy memories.
Her songs and music are still part of my life, and most of our lives.

Forever Teresa Teng

The idol of Chinese and Asian on Earth Planet,
Especially for me, in my heart, she had planted.
Resonating sweet and soulful music and songs,
Every night and day, listen and sing along.
Singing and listening even when sick in bed.
A bright and beloved star passed away in a flick.

Teresa, Always will cherish the sweet dream.
Every passing days, months, years and fifteen years now,
Nightingale, please tell me how,
Gone years be filled and the love for you will never dim.

When Will Come? ~ BaKoGi

When Will Come?

When Will they come?
Please help, please…
Carcasses lay everywhere
No clean water.
No shelter.
No care?

When will the help come?
Buried and drowned families in the debris and water,
Leaving me in this brutal world,
No family.
No food.
No help?

When will The time come?
Kinder to be dead than being alive,
To end this living hell,
No fear.
No tears.
No love?

BaKoGi
Please do not forget these helpless folks in Burma. They still need our loves and helps after 2 years post-Nargis Cyclone.
