Dreams ~ Langston Hughes

Dreams
Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.

Blue ~ By Angie Hart

Blue - By Angie Hart
Night falls
I fall
And where were you?
And where were you?

Warm skin
Wolf grin
And where were you?

I fell into the moon
And it covered you in blue
I fell into the moon
Can I make it right?
Can I spend the night?

High tide
Inside
The air is dew
And where were you?

While I
I died
And where were you?

I crawled out of the world
And you said I shouldn't stay
I crawled out of the world
Can I make it right?
Can I spend the night
Alone?

The Moonlight ~ Sarah Knowles Bolton

The Moonlight

What is the moonlight to me?
An infinite rest;
The subtle and sweet melody
Of song unexpressed.

What is the moonlight to me?
The peace of a river:
Companionship of a sea
That surges forever.

What is the moonlight to me?
Satisfaction completest;
A precious and dear memory
Of all that is sweetest.

What is the moonlight to me?
A tryst and a union;
A promise for futurity;
A soulful communion.

All I Ever Need Is You ~ Ray Charles

Ray Charles - All I Ever Need Is You (1991)
Sometimes when I'm sad and all alone
just like a child without a home
The love you give me keeps me hangin' on
All I ever need is you now

Your my first love, your my last
Your my future, your my past
Loving you is all I ask, ohh
All I ever need is you

Winters come and then they go
And we watch the melting snow
Sure as summer follows spring, all the things you do
Give me a reason to build my world around you

Some men follow rainbows I am told
Some men search for silver, some for gold
I found my treasures in your soul
All I ever need is you baby

Without love I'd never find the way
Through ups and downs of every day
I won't sleep at night until you say
Ohh Babe, all I ever need is you

Some men follow rainbows I am told
Some men search for silver, some for gold
I found my treasures in your soul
All I ever need is you baby

Without love I'd never find the way
Through ups and downs of every day
I won't sleep at night until you say
Ohh, all I ever need is you
I wanna hear you say
All I ever need is you babe
All I ever need is you
All I ever need is you
All I ever need is you

Guardian Teacher ~ BaKoGi

Guardian Teacher

A small group of little birds,

Hunger and thirst for knowledge,
With well of good heart,
You put them up at your home to study free.

A small group of little birds,
Frightened and cowed,
With tender love,
You inspire them to fight on.

A small group of little birds,
Wander around and take shelters,
With loving care,
You give them faith to fly.

That small group of little birds,
Now, spread around this planet earth,
With never ending affection and deep respect,
Always miss you very much.

In Dreams ~ Roy Orbison

In Dreams
Songwriters: Orbison, Roy;
A candy-colored clown they call the Sandman
Tiptoes to my room every night
Just to sprinkle stardust and to whisper
"Go to sleep, everything is all right"

I close my eyes, then I drift away
Into the magic night, I softly say
A silent prayer like dreamers do
Then I fall asleep to dream my dreams of you

In dreams I walk with you
In dreams I talk to you
In dreams you're mine all of the time
We're together in dreams, in dreams

But just before the dawn
I awake and find you gone
I can't help it, I can't help it, if I cry
I remember that you said goodbye

It's too bad that all these things
Can only happen in my dreams
Only in dreams
In beautiful dreams

Place of My Birth ~ BaKoGi

Place of My Birth

Place of my birth,
Home of my blood,
Land of fertile fields,
Folks without ills,
Charitable hearts with yearly yields,
Where farmers were working like honey bees.

Place of my love,
Home of my friends,
Land of my playground,
Climbing trees in the field,
Fishing in the small stream,
Where my fond memories were buried.

Now, the place of my sorrow,
Home of my hollow,
Land of hunger and thirst,
The stench of the death in the air,
And vultures in the sky,
Where my loved one died.

If You Could Read My Mind ~ Gordon Lightfoot

If You Could Read My Mind ~ Gordon Lightfoot 1970
If you could read my mind, love,
What a tale my thoughts could tell.
Just like an old time movie,
'Bout a ghost from a wishing well.
In a castle dark or a fortress strong,
With chains upon my feet.
You know that ghost is me.
And I will never be set free
As long as I'm a ghost that you can't see.

If I could read your mind, love,
What a tale your thoughts could tell.
Just like a paperback novel,
The kind the drugstores sell.
When you reached the part where the heartaches come,
The hero would be me.
But heroes often fail,
And you won't read that book again
Because the ending's just too hard to take!

I'd walk away like a movie star
Who gets burned in a three way script.
Enter number two:
A movie queen to play the scene
Of bringing all the good things out in me.
But for now, love, let's be real;
I never thought I could feel this way
And I've got to say that I just don't get it.
I don't know where we went wrong,
But the feeling's gone
And I just can't get it back.

If you could read my mind, love,
What a tale my thoughts could tell.
Just like an old time movie,
'Bout a ghost from a wishing well.
In a castle dark or a fortress strong.
With chains upon my feet.
But stories always end,
And if you read between the lines,
You'd know that I'm just tryin' to understand
The feelin's that you lack.
I never thought I could feel this way
And I've got to say that I just don't get it.
I don't know where we went wrong,
But the feelin's gone
And I just can't get it back!

Peace ~ Langston Hughes

Peace
We passed their graves:
The dead men there,
Winners or losers,
Did not care.
In the dark
They could not see
Who had gained
The victory.

Sunshine on my shoulders ~ John Denver

Sunshine on my shoulders ~John Denver
Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high

If I had a day that I could give you
I'd give to you a day just like today
If I had a song that I could sing for you
I'd sing a song to make you feel this way

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high

If I had a tale that I could tell you
I'd tell a tale sure to make you smile
If I had a wish that I could wish for you
I'd make a wish for sunshine all the while

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high
Sunshine almost all the time makes me high
Sunshine almost always

No Difference ~ Shel Silverstein

NO DIFFERENCE

Small as a peanut,
Big as a giant,
We’re all the same size
When we turn off the light.

Rich as a sultan,
Poor as a mite,
We’re all worth the same
When we turn off the light.

Red, black or orange,
Yellow or white,
We all look the same,
When we turn off the light.

So maybe the way
To make everything right
Is for God to just reach out
And turn off the light!

Once in a Lifetime ~ Keith Urban (LIVE)

Keith Urban - Once in a Lifetime (LIVE)
Album: Love, Pain And The Whole Crazy Thing Keith Urban Sheet Music

I can see it in your eyes and feel it in your touch
I know that you're scared but you've never been this loved
It's a long shot, baby, I know it's true,
But if anyone can make it, I'm betting on me and you
Just keep on moving in to me
I know you're going to see
The best is yet to come

Don’t fear it now; we're going all the way
Where the sun is shining on a brand new day
It's a long way down, and it's a leap of faith
But I’m never giving up, 'cause I know we got a once in a lifetime love

Everybody's looking for what we've found
Some wait their whole lives and it never comes around
So don’t hold back now,
Just let go of all you’ve ever known
And put your hand in mine

Don’t fear it now; we're going all the way
Where the sun is shining on a brand new day
It's a long way down, and it's a leap of faith
But I’m never giving up, 'cause I know we got a once in a lifetime love

I close my eyes and I see you standing right there
Saying “I do” and they’re throwing rice in our hair
Then the first one’s born, then a brother comes along and he’s got your smile
I’ll be looking back at the life we had still at your side

So don't fear it now; we're going all the way
Where the sun is shining on a brand new day
It's a long way down, and it's a leap of faith
But I’m never giving up, 'cause I know we got a once in a lifetime love
